Beyond Impostor Syndrome: It’s Time to Lead from Your Truth

A masterclass for leaders ready to close the gap between their achievements and their confidence

She had just delivered a flawless presentation to the board. Strategic. Data-driven. Visionary.

As the room emptied, the CEO pulled her aside: “That was exactly what we needed. Brilliant work.”

She smiled. Said thank you.

And spent the entire drive home replaying the one moment where she’d paused to collect her thoughts, convinced that single second of silence had exposed her as a fraud.

Does this sound familiar? That’s impostor syndrome in action.

The Success Paradox

I’ve spent over a decade working with senior leaders and executives through Leadership Circle Profile™ assessments, 360 evaluations, and executive coaching. And I’ve witnessed a pattern that never stops surprising me:

It is the accomplished leaders who often struggle the most with impostor syndrome.

Not because they lack competence. But because their external success and internal narrative exist in two different worlds.

The VP who’s led three successful organizational transformations but still feels like she’s “winging it.”

The executive whose team consistently outperforms targets but attributes every win to “good timing” or “a great team.”

The senior leader who over-prepares for meetings where she should be the most confident person in the room.

These aren’t struggling professionals. They’re high performers trapped in a cycle that achievement alone cannot break.

Why “Fake It Till You Make It” Doesn’t Work

Here’s what I’ve learned: You can’t outrun impostor syndrome with more credentials, more success, or more external validation.

Because impostor syndrome isn’t actually about your competence.

It’s about the lens through which you’re interpreting your competence.

I see this clearly in 360 assessment debriefs. A leader will score in the 85th percentile for authenticity, strategic thinking, or influence—and be genuinely shocked by the data.

“But I feel like I’m performing all the time,” they’ll say.

“That can’t be right. I’m just getting lucky.”

The evidence is right there in black and white. Collected from bosses, peers, and direct reports. Objective. Measurable. Clear.

And still, the internal narrative wins.

The Real Cost

The cost of this gap isn’t just discomfort. It’s in lost opportunities.

  • It’s the board seat you didn’t pursue because you didn’t feel “ready.”
  • It’s the strategic conversation where you stayed silent, despite having the insight the room needed.
  • It’s the hours, sometimes days spent over-preparing to compensate for feeling underprepared, even when you’re the expert.
  • It’s the exhaustion of maintaining an appearance of effortless competence while drowning internally.

One client told me something that still haunts me: “I’ve spent more energy managing my impostor syndrome than I’ve spent on actual leadership challenges.”

Think about that.

What could you create if that energy was redirected? What opportunities could you claim if doubt wasn’t your default setting?

A Different Approach

After years of watching brilliant leaders struggle with this pattern, I’ve developed frameworks that actually work. Not positive thinking. Not “fake it till you make it.” Not waiting until you feel confident.

Practical, evidence-based strategies to:

  • Recognize impostor patterns in real-time before they hijack your decisions
  • Interrupt the cycle at its root
  • Build sustainable internal authority that doesn’t require constant external validation
  • Lead from your actual expertise instead of compensating for perceived inadequacy

These aren’t theoretical concepts. They’re tools I’ve developed and refined through hundreds of coaching sessions, leadership assessments, and real-world applications with executives who needed something that actually worked.

An Invitation

On March 3rd, 2026, I’m hosting a 90-minute masterclass titled “Beyond Impostor Syndrome.”

This is for senior leaders and executives who are done with the internal debate.

Who have achieved enough to know that more achievement won’t solve this.

Who are ready for a different approach.

This masterclass will give you:

  • A real-time framework to recognize impostor syndrome patterns as they arise
  • Evidence-based strategies to interrupt the cycle before it costs you another opportunity
  • Practical tools to build internal authority that lasts
  • Live coaching on your specific leadership challenges

I’m limiting this to a small group because I want space for real interaction, questions, and coaching that addresses your actual situations rather than generic advice.

Who This Is For

This masterclass is designed for you if:

  • You’ve achieved measurable success, but still question whether you “deserve” to be in the room
  • You over-prepare for conversations where you should be confident
  • You watch less qualified people step forward while you hold back
  • You attribute your wins to external factors—timing, luck, your team—never your own skill
  • You feel exhausted from the mental gymnastics of “performing” competence
  • You know intellectually that you’re capable, but can’t access that knowing when it matters most

You’re not looking for awareness. You already know what impostor syndrome is.

You’re looking for a way out.

The Truth You Already Know

Here’s what I know about you if you’ve read this far:

You’ve earned your seat at the table. Your track record proves it. Your results demonstrate it. The people who work with you see it.

The only person still questioning it is you.

And that gap—between what you’ve achieved and what you believe about yourself—is costing you more than opportunities. It’s costing you energy, peace of mind, and the full expression of your leadership.

It’s time to close that gap.

Not by achieving more. Not by waiting to feel ready. But by developing the internal frameworks that allow you to lead from your truth instead of your fear.

The question isn’t whether you’re ready.

The question is: What becomes possible when you finally believe what everyone else already sees?

I’ll see you there.
